As EDN’s Grants Manager your principal duties will include the following:

Development Coordinator
The Development Coordinator will report to the Director of Foundations and Individual Giving.
Job Overview In partnership with the Director of Foundations and Individual Giving, the Development Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting EARTHDAY.ORG’s development efforts. Responsibilities and Duties
• Work with the Director of Development on creating an annual development calendar to ensure year-round engagement and stewardship of individual and institutional funders
• Assist Director of Development in determining appropriate systems to ensure accurate processing and fulfilling of all donations, the accuracy and management of donor records and files, reporting, and prompt donor acknowledgement
• Help Director of Development to develop, implement, and interpret operating policies and procedures for Development
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in database and other files
• Ensure overall data integrity
• Run reports and analyze data to share with the Director of Development
• Generate and track acknowledgement letters
• Monitor external donation portals to ensure prompt acknowledgement

Qualifications

EDO is seeking to hire a very special person who is enthusiastic, multi-talented, and ready to dive into a job at the center of a busy organization and who will:
- Have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow a 5 to 10 million dollar annual budget through the solicitation of major gifts, online donations, membership, special events and foundation support.
- Work closely with the President and Senior Vice President and coordinate with the other members of the development team to build and implement a strong, diversified fundraising program.
As EDN’s Director of Development and Individual Giving your principal duties will include the following:
- In coordination with senior leadership team, establish and implement the infrastructure needed to raise revenue to meet Earth Day 2020 and annual budgets through raising foundation support, the solicitation of major gifts, membership, special events, and online fundraising
- Work closely with the leadership team and Board of Directors to ensure the financial health of EDO to build and implement a strong, diversified fundraising program.

- Manage and oversee development and execution of foundation and individual donor proposals, including working with program staff to draft proposals; write and archive proposals with a long-term relationship-management approach.
- Oversee and conduct foundation and individual donor prospects and other funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position EDN ahead of major funding changes or trends.
- Monitor all donor information; provide and present statistical analysis to board and senior leadership.
- Develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors.
- Help identify, develop, and mentor the development team.
- Help supervise EDN’s day to day funding activities and the activities of the foundation and individual donor fundraising staff and consultants.
- Work with appropriate staff to increase the fundraising potential of EDN’s website, online campaigns and e-store.
- Once agreements and grants are confirmed, work to ensure that obligations and reporting requirements are met.

Business Partnerships Coordinator
The Business Partnerships Coordinator is a key member of the corporate sponsorships team. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Including invoicing, data entry into NationBuilder
- Draft and mail donor acknowledgements and thank yous

Global Earth Day Director
EARTHDAY.ORG is seeking a Global Earth Day Director who can help us build a broad, coordinated active 21st century environmental movement worldwide using Earth Day as the vehicle.
We are seeking an experienced self-starter, a highly motivated person who cares deeply about environmental issues and who has experience in global movement building. We are seeking a person who cares about broadening the environmental movement and who can build diverse and deep partnerships with organizations across all segments of society. The Director will lead the global effort to build broad civic engagement. Working with senior management and a team of staff and volunteers, the Director will play a key role in developing the overall strategy for this campaign and will lead the effort to build momentum each year for Earth Day and turn out millions of people in cities and towns around the world.
This job requires the applicant to:
- Help carry out EDO’s mission to build environmental democracy and to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement
- Help shape the vision and contribute inputs for the strategic development of the programs, campaigns and field operations of EDO by initiating new ideas on how to maximize the project effectiveness globally.
- Manage and execute outreach to an extensive existing network of international and domestic non-profit leaders, public officials, and organizations including EDO volunteer network.
- Research, identify, and recruit new international partners and coalitions to support EDO’s initiatives.

Communications Database Manager
Job Summary
This position will lead our efforts to capture, organize, use and analyze constituent data to achieve EARTHDAY.ORG’s organizational objectives. The Communications Database Manager will oversee the daily operation of EDO’s data systems. These systems track EDO’s collaborative projects with partners nationally, its grants to other organizations, gifts and grants received, marketing and public information, outreach and general constituent relationship management. Responsibilities will range from daily oversight of data availability and quality to work with other technical resources and EDO’s management team on strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor data entry across all departments of the organization. Create and use appropriate audit reports and data quality tools to ensure high quality of all essential data.
- Oversee EDO website mapping functionality and related data management systems.
- Monitor the system for security issues, evaluate and oversee timely updates of the software, manage user access, liaison with IT and vendors on appropriate desktop and mobile tools for accessing the data.
- Manage and support EDO’s live streaming events (website, social media platforms)
- Coordinating and supporting EDO’s international teams on digital events.
- Take responsibility for all technical aspects of a comprehensive donor management system.
- Oversee data management for EDO’s programs and initiatives, including tracking of participants, events, deliverables, documents, newsletters, and scheduling, reporting and other organizational activities.
- Empowering and educating staff to better manage and understand data to support them in their existing projects and programs.
- Work with Development team to determine best ways to log and manage grants awarded to EDO.
- Provide support to marketing and communications on campaigns, segmentation and analytics for emailing’s, newsletters and other communication functions, including integration with social media activities.
- Manager will have responsibility for anticipating new requirements, developing them with departmental teams, and overseeing their implementation, including working with designated outside consulting support.
- Provide on-going training, tutorial support, produce documentation and in other ways support the independence and self-reliance of EDO staff.
- Advise leadership and cross-functional teams on technology strategy, technology implications of EDO overall organizational objectives, and CRM requirements relative to network, web and other technology areas.

Qualifications
- Communication and research skills commensurate with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years nonprofit technology experience, or other equivalent background.
- Knowledge and experience with Google Analytics and ESRI.
- Database management skills with contemporary relational databases, including administrative configuration, reporting, dashboards and data quality skills. Software development background useful but not required.
- Well versed in cloud software management, particularly CRM systems, for general database administration, security, back-up, data imports and exports, and integration.
- Project management skills in order to manage outside resources as well as internal project teams for major enhancements and integrations.
- Must possess excellent analytical, research, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Position requires proficiency in CRM administration, including prospect and constituent management, data quality, developing reports in NationBuilder or equivalent software system as well as good understanding of nonprofit fundraising processes, donor cultivation, nonprofit marketing and related financial requirements.
- Position also requires good understanding of software and business processes associated with project management and grants management software systems to support EDO’s programs, initiatives, and grants.
- This position requires comfort and effectiveness translating between end user needs and database output. Must be able to understand staff needs so as to accurately translate their requests into effective queries and reports. Skill in making presentations and training individuals in software applications is REQUIRED.
- Proven ability to launch a new system, and lead a culture change process towards a new way of doing things.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
- Strong experience with most primary office software packages, including MS Excel, Access, Outlook, Active Directory and other typical software systems.
- Understands general web concepts (HTML, Javascript and authentication) in order to liaise with web team for on-line forms and integrations.

Earth Day Network (EDN) is seeking an Executive Assistant to play a critical support role in this global campaign. The Executive Assistant will work closely to provide comprehensive administrative and proactive executive support to the President and senior staff to anticipate and coordinate a variety of needs for the environmental movement.
We are seeking a highly motivated and an organized professional who cares deeply about the environment with experience in: managing high level staff, scheduling, event planning, identifying innovative partnership opportunities; interacting with a wide range of audiences; and working both independently and as part of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Function with a high level of judgment to provide a wide-range of executive assistance to the President especially in the areas of managing priorities, work flow, screening of all in-coming emails, phone calls and documents, preparing responses and ensuring the smooth delivery of services.
- Work as a surrogate for President and Vice President with partners and prospective partners to engage them in Earth Day’s programs and campaigns.
- Coordinate the time management and scheduling on behalf of the President to include effective prioritizing and resolving related conflicts and competing demands.
- Draft correspondence and other materials based on high quality and time sensitive research and ensure that all documents requiring signature are of high quality and adhere to administrative operational guidelines.

- Demonstrate judgment, tact, diplomacy and discretion in conducting or answering and/or redirecting inquiries to appropriate sources and in dealing with sensitive or highly confidential matters, making decisions when multiple courses of action are possible.
- Oversee the smooth and effective administrative support for the Senior VP. and collaborate with the other Executive Assistants/ Program Assistants from to develop a high level of teamwork.
- Some travel possible.
SKILLS: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with the public; and over time assume higher level role of working with EDO partners/celebrities/speakers. Success requires exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask and flexibility as schedules/events evolve.
WORK EXPERIENCE: At least one year of assisting senior level staff experience is preferred; international work experience or knowledge is also preferred.

EARTHDAY.ORG is looking for qualified interns with a strong interest in the environment to help fulfill its mission: mobilizing people to protect the Earth for future generations.
This is primarily a remote internship. Depending on the state of the pandemic in January, we may have limited space in our Washington, D.C. offices.
EARTHDAY.ORG is a nonprofit organization that works with more than 50,000 partners in 196 countries to sustain and support the modern environmental movement. Interns will work closely with EDO’s staff to write blogs, conduct research and coordinate grassroots outreach. Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the workforce, bolstering their professional resumes and building connections in the environmental field.
April 22nd marks Earth Day each year. EARTHDAY.ORG interns will be vital in preparing for this event, while working toward solving climate change, ending plastic pollution, and protecting endangered species — all while activating the environmental movement across the globe. The COVID-19 pandemic presents new challenges which interns will help to overcome.
Specific Responsibilities May Include:
- Supporting EARTHDAY.ORG in our efforts to connect our global network of grassroots organizations, local authorities, educators and youth
- Engaging in the day-to-day operations of EARTHDAY.ORG, including meetings, correspondence and events
- Monitoring domestic and international environmental efforts
- Participating in the planning, execution and promotion of year-round campaigns
